Cemetery Headstone Dedication at Fort Caspar Cemetery 
10:00 am to 12:00 pm

We will be dedicating headstones for the five 6th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry soldiers and one 7th Iowa Volunteer Cavalryman who died while serving in this area in the 1860s.

Fundraising Dinner & Speaking Engagement at Fort Caspar Museum  6:00 to 8:00 pm

The 11th Ohoio Volunteer Cavalry reenactment group, with support from the Fort Caspar Museum Association and the Research Arsenal, invites you to an evening of history, rememberance, and purpose.
Renowned historian James A. Hessler, an award-winning author and Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park, will present on "The 6th Michigan Cavalry: From Gettysburg to the Western Frontier."
This dinner event is to raise funds for marble headstones to properly commemorate the remaining soldiers who died here, making the ultimage sacrifice for away from home. They survived the Civil War only to die in Indian territory.
