LINK Route News


Casper Area Transit Temporarily Adjust Green Route Due to Construction
On Monday, March 10, the City of Casper closed East “K” Street between N. Jackson and N. Melrose Streets for utility repair and replacement construction work through mid-August. Casper Area Transit, operated by the City of Casper, has adjusted its Green route through North Casper in order to minimize disruptions to passengers.
 
• The Legacy Senior Apartments, located at Elma & “K” Street, will be serviced by request only, by calling (307) 235-8287, or by notifying your driver that you need to be disembarked at the stop temporarily located at Elma and “H” Street.
• The stop time for McKinley Street and “H” Street will be moved to 40 minutes after the hour.

• The Boys and Girls Club, located at 1701 East “K” Street, will be serviced by request only, by calling the Boys and Girls Club office at (307) 234-2456, or the Transit Dispatch office at (307) 235-8287. If you are on a bus, and need to be dropped off at the Boys and Girls Club, please let your driver know as soon as possible.


Beginning Monday, March 3 Blue and Green Routes will return to their regular hourly week day operations.

Casper Area Transit LINK Route Exceptions during the period of February 27 to March 28
The schedule below notes exceptions to our standard operating scheduling.  Anything not mentioned below or on Transit News will operate as normal. 

 
Temporary Red and Yellow Routes:
Thursday, February 27, 2025 to Friday, March 28, 2025 Red and Yellow Route will be combined the whole day. Red Route will run starting on the even half hour and Yellow Route will run starting on the odd half hour.

Permanent Saturday Red and Yellow Routes:
Saturday LINK Red and Yellow Routes will be limited to one round every two hours.

Permanent Saturday Blue and Green Routes:
Saturday LINK Blue and Green Routes will be limited to one round every two hours.


General Rider Directions


  1. Get a schedule. Copies are available on board the buses, the Casper Area Transit Center located at 1715 East 4th Street, City Hall, the Senior Center or click here for a PDF version.
  2. Choose your route. Check the schedule to find your stop.
  3. Wait at the stop 5 minutes before departure.
  4. Wait for other passengers to exit prior to boarding the bus. Make sure you’re getting on the correct route. If you are unsure about the route, need the lift, or need further assistance, please ask the driver. 
  5. Pay your fare. Drivers do not carry change, so you must have the exact fare when you board the bus.
  6. Enjoy the ride!
  7. Get off the bus. Pull the signal cord when available, or inform the driver at least one block prior to your stop. Stay seated until the bus comes to a complete stop and be sure to take your belongings with you. Don’t cross the street in front of the bus; wait for the bus to leave the stop.

Fare Rates


One way fares must be paid with exact cash at the time of service, or a scan pass can be purchased at Casper Area Transit Office. A one time registration form will need to be filled out on an initial purchase. A printable version can be found here: LINK Pass Registration Form.

Attention Credit Card Users
The City of Casper is no longer absorbing credit card fees. When using a credit card you will be charged 3.75% or a minimum of $2.50, whichever is greater, this is charged by the credit card processor, not the City of Casper.

Deviations must be paid with exact cash. Drivers do not carry change.

Deviations must be arranged with the Dispatch Office at (307) 235-8287 at least 1-2 hours in advance. Deviations can be rejected at any time at the dispatch office or at the driver’s discretion, depending on weather conditions and traffic patterns. Rejections are rare and generally occur due to time constraints, weather conditions, construction delays, or excessive distance from route.


Transfers


Free from one bus to another and must be used immediately. Transfer tokens are good only at designated transfer points such as the Eastside Wal-Mart (Blue and Orange), or Westside Wal-Mart (Purple and Yellow), Beech Street Transfer Plaza (Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue), or Kit Carson (Purple and Green). Abuse of Transfer Tokens is not only dishonest, but can be considered theft of services. Repeated abuse will result in your suspension from ridership and / or prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. Transfers can be combined with route deviations; please indicate intentions to transfer at the time of original boarding.

Casper Area LINK does not provide service on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day - Wednesday, January 1st, 2025
  • Memorial Day - Monday, May 26th, 2025
  • Independence Day - Friday, July 4th, 2025
  • Labor Day - Monday, September 1st, 2025
  • Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 27th, 2025
  • Christmas Day - Thursday, December 25th, 2025

LINK will provide limited service hours from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the following holidays:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Monday, January 20th, 2025
  • Presidents' Day - Monday, February 17th, 2025
  • Columbus Day - Monday, October 13th, 2025
  • Veteran's Day - Tuesday, November 11th, 2025
  • Day after Thanksgiving - Friday, November 28th, 2025
  • Christmas Eve - Wednesday, December 24th, 2025
  • New Year’s Eve - Wednesday, December 31st, 2025
