Seniors SAFE Program
The Seniors SAFE Program is dedicated to preventing falls and fires in the senior population. Public education efforts are conducted at various locations throughout the county. SAFE installs smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, night-lights, and light bulbs in seniors’ homes thanks to funding secured through its many partners: Blue Envelope Health Fund, AARP Wyoming, and Rotary District 5450.
The initiative is based on The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Remembering WhenTM: A Fire and Fall Prevention Program for Older Adults. The program was developed by NFPA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help older adults live safely at home for as long as possible.
